My favorite character was always Blue (Mark Slade). Since I'm blonde, he's the character that I most look like. Here are a few pics of me from a scene from Dr. Quinn: Medicine Woman where I'm among 6 actors trying out to be sheriff for the town of Colorado Springs. It was fun working with Johnny Cash, who was the guest star for that episode. IIRC, Dr. Quinn took place right around the same time as HC, late 1860's/early 1870's? My character name is Rusty Rose. We meet and have shooting events at the new Western town of Chimney Rock. The buildings (I found out Sunday) were built and designed by a retired Disneyland architect and a crew of carpenters who love the western look. They really put their craft into it. For a town of sheds and false front stores, it’s pretty awesome. Several of the Regulators have also added to and embellished the look. The group is now building a real club museum to house all the trophies, awards, and photos of their meets. They host the West Coast regionals here…yup, right here in my little desert town. If you get a chance to see “Wreckreation Nation”, a TV series on History Channel, there is an episode from last summer of the Regulators at the Regionals here. Lucerne Valley/Chimney Rock is highlighted for 20 minutes. The series host gets to shoot and record a fast draw. It’s a good representation of the games. The regionals are scheduled for Oct. Good thing it’s one weekend before the Reunion…whew! When I was there as a guest in March, I got to shoot every weapon available for free. From black powder single shot rifles (just like the one Manolito shot in the first HC episode) to ladies’ derringers, Colt 45s, Marlin rifles, Winchester double actions, shot guns of many calibers, and the fast draw. I HIT EVERY ONE OF MY TARGETS! And on the fast draw I missed two shots but held a pretty good overall score of 3.5 seconds. -Rusty LaGrange Here are some photos of my first reenactment event as a new member of the Double R Bar Regulators. One of the things that drew me into the world of THE HIGH CHAPARRAL were the Mexican and Southwestern US elements such as the architecture of the ranch house, the desert, the mountains, the saguaros, the vaqueros, Manolito, and (of course!) the goregous Victoria. So, it should be no surprise that I often find myself donning the outfit of a charro, or vaquero. But, I can also be seen, quite frequently, in the guise of a very mean black-clad gringo pistolero! I simply can't find adequate words to describe how much I am looking forward to the reunion in October! Hasta luego! Chris Hello!
